9/14/2025 Farm Update

We have 6 weeks left in the share, and the weather in the coming days continues to be warm. There’s a smaller planting of spinach available now and a big one ready in a week or so. Pull out your woks or skillets because there’s incredible bok choy and Chinese cabbage in the field. Though the basil is looking a bit September ragged, it’s still great pureed or minced. This will be the final week it’s available, so plan accordingly! There’s another patch of kale coming in, soon folks can harvest from that if you prefer small leaves to add to salads, etc. We’re also transplanting another batch of cold hardy head lettuce for October harvest.

Shareholder Jess sent a tasty tip about tatsoi:In a new episode of does it pickle? I tried soy pickling some tatsoi in soy sauce, rice vinegar, water, sugar, garlic and jalapeño… delicious! Just in case others were wondering what is possible. Tasted amazing with our grilled pork tenderloin tonight… also threw some thinly sliced radishes in the same brine… highly recommend! I heated the brine then poured it over the raw tatsoi in a jar. Was going to eat it the next day, but ate it two days later… ate it all in one sitting!”
