Musings
Today’s winter solstice marks a turn towards the light. It’s an exciting step to meet the magnificent spring equinox.
We are in the planning stages of a cool new project that brings our enduring passion for fresh food (and the wonders their meals unlock) to a wider audience. littleGrasse is partnering with TAUNY (Traditional Arts of Upstate New York) in a foodways project. We are collaboratively honing the vision now and if successfully funded, will include planting of crops that are important to households and community groups across the region. We are hopeful that 2021 will include storytelling, recipes and tours to the farm illuminating traditions of longtime and newly transplanted north country residents. The project is ripe with possibility and we look forward to seeing how it unfolds.
Next year’s shares are still being determined. There’s many parts to consider such as length, cost, crops/varieties and what educational/communication materials to develop for improving the shareholder relationship to the food and farm. We’ll announce the sign-ups in the New Year.
