It’s here- the June Garden Morning and Potluck this Saturday, June 28th! We may be able to sneak between the raindrops but no matter what, we’ll have jolly attitudes plus a blueberry dessert and a bean dish to share at lunch. Join us anytime 10am-1pm.
There’s a great new crop of cilantro along with a vigorous batch of mixed red/green lettuce greens plus more head lettuce. The penetrating heat of the last week pushed the spinach, arugula planting, and spicy mixed greens into seed production aka bolting. Even though the spinach is tall, the flavor is still mild and is edible raw or cooked. We had a planting of spinach staggered after this one, but unfortunately the germination was mediocre. We’ll keep you posted if there will be another crop available before the fall plantings (where it shines again in the cooler temperatures).

- The earliest flowers in the gardens are the perennials that survive from year to year. There are lesser quantities of these as compared to the annual flowers which are getting established now.
