Kitchen Fun

Lots of scratch cooking happens on the farm and we were reminiscing about the many people who have spent time here over the years participating in the food projects that fill the pantry and freezer. Apprentices, farm shareholders, family, neighbors, community based learning students and more. For some, the techniques are new territory while others have a lifetime of homesteading skills and it’s a joy to simply be together getting the “work” done. We call these projects good clean fun because with the right attitude and company, they are! As the years roll on these folks are rippling out into the world, doing cool things with food in the company of the people they love. We are particularly fond of two annual group projects where we divide up the goodies at the end: roasting peppers over the open fire and turning the autumn “kimchi garden” into gallons of fermented deliciousness.
