Nov 7th Farm Update

Farm Happenings

“Just leaving the farm with some root veggies, kale and herbs. Feeling so much gratitude! We truly loved this CSA this summer. The model you’ve developed makes it feel like home/family and all the produce exceeded our expectations. Looking forward to year after year.” -littleGrasse shareholder

This note from a first-year shareholder put a pep in my step for an afternoon this week. It’s easy to focus on what we are not excited about, shorter days, long winter, etc. But we have much to celebrate too. As farmers it’s exhilarating to know that shareholders feel welcome and a part of the farm.

Your experience doesn’t need to be all rainbows- we still want to hear your thoughts. Remember to fill out the year-end survey, because your perspective is important to us. The survey is at this link.

The TAUNY video about the farm has been released. Check it out and I bet you’ll see some familiar faces!

Dottie and GH made this growing season a genuine pleasure for us. Not all farming jobs are created equal, yet they approached tasks with upbeat attitudes, lots of jokes and great work ethic. They welcomed shareholders with a smile and helped preserve produce for our farmstead in all ways imaginable. We experimented with making fresh meals from traditions around the globe and they explored the waterways and trails of the region. We wish them a fantastic and filling winter, as they depart Canton this week.

The Dixon Family carved this little gem from their winning pumpkin Tangerine.

Alas, the close of the farms 12th season has arrived. It’s bittersweet but the frigid winter is on our journey to the glorious flora of spring. May the path be snowy and moonlit.
