With food as an essential need, littleGrasse is prepared and eager to create a safe, clean place for members to source the freshest produce in the open air.
Yes, it’s a surreal and unsettling time, but there is a sliver of good news. The farm already has everything on hand to grow healthy and diverse crops for our member households in 2020. Our seeds are here (some already popping in the greenhouse), along with the necessary tools and equipment. We’ve got the supplies for cleaning and disinfecting the public areas. The farm is upgrading our hand washing station for this season and we’ll all become very familiar with that! Fortunately, the majority of our systems are grounded in human power and not reliant on fossil fuels. Even in the case of shortages such as fuel or electricity, the farm is built on low impact systems that allow resiliency in unpredictable times. Will there be some unexpected hiccups? Probably so, but we are preparing for continuous operation and retaining the quality and diversity of past seasons.
littleGrasse exists so that our neighbors and ourselves can thrive with the support of nutrient dense foods while offering a meaningful connection to the landscape. These goals have no expiration date.
