We carved and painted a new sign from beechwood for the driveway. Thanks to James Gonzalez of Farmhouse Forge in Potsdam, for crafting such a sweet sign bracket. If you’re looking for a blacksmith for any custom metal projects, get in touch with him.
As for the fields, the frost knocked back some, but not all of our sensitive plants this past Saturday and Sunday. It nipped the basil, green beans and summer squash, while the tomatoes and peppers are still intact (though certainly slowing down).

We’ve begun to shift away from the summer crops and are bringing in the fall bounty. While it’s getting brisk, there’s many crops that don’t mind and are still in the field. Good things are in store including many types of greens as well as broccoli, parsnips, carrots, brussels sprouts, beets and cabbage. There’s more garlic and onions that have already been harvested and cured. Our winter squash didn’t do so well, there’s much less to offer as in years past. There will also be less potatoes.
