Farm News
There’s three friendly faces you may see around littleGrasse. Our two farm interns Maddie and Koral along with Lauren, an intern helping us develop birding trails on the property. From horses to beading to fishing, their interests roam far and wide. A commonality is an enthusiastic curiosity about being on the land and participating in the wonders of the harvest cycle. You’ll hear more from them in the coming weeks in the farm update.
What fun to see a half a dozen households at the May Garden Morning this past Saturday! The meal was satisfying, all the more so that the rain held off until we were eating the tasty tortilla espanola, chili, fresh sourdough, corn medley, and homemade hot chocolate. We put in the herb transplants that don’t survive from year to year including basil, rosemary, parsley, tarragon and more. Also, we transplanted six varieties of cherry and plum tomatoes along with groundcherries and tomatilloes. Join us at the next one on Saturday, June 28th!
We (Bob and Flip) are getting acclimated to the adjusted share offerings for the season in terms of quantities and timing. The spinach has been most abundant and we have another planting coming on in a week or so. Other items, such as scallions, will be available later in the month, but in lesser quantities than we had planned. The share offering shift has been effective for our own work-life balance. We know it’s likely taking adjustment for the returning members as well, and are open to your input. At times there may be additional offerings beyond what was listed in the Greens & Beyond Crop list, such as the asparagus that’s been available the last couple weeks first-come first-serve.
For the later part of this month, be thinking of projects you might like to do with garlic scapes, we’ll be overrun with thousands!

Future wedding flowers! Shareholder Thressa and her fiance Connor helping transplant flowers. They are getting married next month and will bring a group for some DIY harvesting before the big day!
