General Info

Every part of a fennel plant is edible (seeds, bulbs, stems, fronds, flowers, and pollen). Bulb fennel has a light licorice flavor and is edible raw or cooked. When roasted or grilled, it’s sweet and mellow. The plant originates in the Mediterranean where it grow as a self-sowing annual. The seed is well known as a digestive aid.

Harvest

Cut full bulb right below soil level with a sharp knife. It’s root is thick and fibrous.

Storage Information

Store in refrigerator. Bulbs will last over a week, the green leafy tops last several days.
