General Info

Brussels sprouts are one of the vegetables that takes the longest to grow. It is planted in the north country garden before the last frost of spring and harvested after the first frost in autumn. They are in the same family as broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower yet they grow much taller than their relatives. While it is the sprouts that are commonly eaten on this plant, in fact, the leaves are also edible and may be prepared like collards.

After sprouts are removed from stalks and trimmed, they will last for several weeks if stored in the fridge in an enclosed bag or storage container.
