Kohlrabi

General Info
This somewhat unusual looking member of the cabbage family can be eaten raw or cooked. The outer peel is trimmed off, to reveal the juicy, crispy interior. The flavor has been described as a mix between broccoli stems and apple. Crunchy, sweet and mellow.

Storage
While we love this variety best small, around softball size, there are varieties such as Gigante that can be raised as large as a cabbage and stored in the root cellar and eaten during the cold months. More often we distribute smaller ones for fresh eating during the distribution season. These store great for over a week wrapped in the fridge.
